The Poppesteeg is the historic narrow lane leading from the Central Railway station right to the “Oude Delft” which is the oldest canal of the city of Delft. Almost every building is a national monument. Opposite the POPPESTEEG building is a monumental brickwork garden wall that surrounds the gardens of the tall monumental buildings of the Oude Delft.
The POPPESTEEG building measures approximately 52 metres along the narrow lane called Poppesteeg and forms the connection between the modern area with the new Municipal office and the centuries old historic centre of Delft.
Poppesteeg is in the direct vicinity of the “IHE Delft Institute for Water Education”, worldwide the largest institute for water-related education and -research.
